Supergreens Iced Matcha Latte

The presence of the glistening sun on this chilled winter day has me reminiscing warm sunny days & has inspired me for a refreshing beverage that isn't H2O or infused H2O. H2O sounds boring but I love it - I know it's super basic of me but I take hydration quite seriously. One of my favourite summer treats is an Iced Matcha Latte - which you can find at pretty much any cafe. I always ask for non-sweet as I'm not much of sweets gal. Cafe treats can be quite pricey but if you already have the ingredients on hand then it's easy breezy & affordable.

Why Matcha? Matcha has incredible health benefits, both inside and out. It is well known for it's high antioxidant content but it also helps boost your metabolism, burn more calories, aids in your body's natural detoxing process, it's rich with micronutrients & Chlorophyll, and it contains L-Theanine which is an important amino acid that promotes relaxation which can also improve concentration, enhance mood, increase energy levels & endurance. My version of this tasty treat has the added benefits of fermented greens. These help alkalize the body, gently detox & provide a variety of micronutrients. Oh and fermented? That sounds interesting.... IT IS! Fermentation enhances the bioavailability (easy to digest) of these important nutrients without the digestive stress of gas or bloating which can be associated with some greens powders.
